Why trust is the missing link for Alternative Water Resources
Across Europe, water scarcity is becoming harder to ignore. Longer dry periods, growing demand, pressure on groundwater and the impacts of climate change...
The AWR4Climate Cluster is pleased to announce its upcoming joint webinar, "Building Trust in Alternative Water Resources," taking place online on 23 June 2026.
Bringing together the Horizon Europe projects AWARD, MARCLAIMED and RECREATE, this webinar will explore one of the key challenges surrounding the implementation of Alternative Water Resources (AWR): building trust among stakeholders, decision-makers and local communities.
Across Europe, climate change and increasing water scarcity are placing growing pressure on water resources. Alternative Water Resources are increasingly recognised as essential components of future water management strategies. However, their successful deployment depends not only on technical feasibility, but also on governance frameworks, stakeholder engagement and social acceptance.
Through practical experiences from demonstration cases and research activities developed across the three projects, participants will discover how trust can be built in practice through participatory approaches, political dialogue and collaborative decision-making processes.
